What Are Textile Pins?

Textile pins are metal pins of varying lengths and diameters used to process fibers in the early stages of textile materials production. Here at W.H. Bagshaw Company, we take carbon steel sourced from North America, straighten it, and cut it into blanks of varying lengths. From there, the blanks are ground to create a taper. The tapered blanks — now pins — are then tumbled to remove burrs, sharp edges, and, in some instances, create a custom point. W.H. Bagshaw is able to produce pins in a sharp point or ball radius, depending on the intended application. Finally, the carbon steel pins are heat-treated to hardness and run through a final scouring to clean and bright polish the finished pin.

Almost every step of this process can be tailored to the customer’s exact specifications, including the length of the pin, the type of point, and the degree of hardness achieved through heat-treating. This level of customization makes our textile pins suitable for every type of textile operation.
